Hi, I'm Aleya, and I specialize in teaching heart-pumping, foot-bumping, feel-good dance workouts! I'm a fun loving optimist that takes a light-hearted and positive approach into each and every session I teach. I'm also certified, licensed, insured and experienced and have been working with people like yourself for 14 years now (jeez...that long already!)
It's my passion to help my clients live pain-free and happy lives with fitness and exercise. My philosophy is that your workout should be a JOY and work hard to make sure you leave my classes feeling amazing! My classes are safe and effective, but are also a GUARANTEED good, sweaty, silly time!
My classes are heavily infused with the music and rhythms of the Afro-diaspora so get ready to be transported all over the Afro-Americas and beyond when you come into an experience with me. Try Wepa! Fitness if you want a mix of Latin and World Rhythms, or Socacize for a heart-pumping West-Indies vibe, or Brazily Dance for an exciting confidence boost set to Brazil's hottest hits! My performance and dance portfolio is over 14 years long! I am primarily a Brazilian Samba performer, but have experience with Cuban cabaret, and have dabbled a little bit in Afro-Cuban and other African dance.
When it comes to samba, I've danced and trained under The Samba Connection Dance Company, where I performed at countless festivals and events including: The Carassauga Festival, Brazilian Day Canada at Dundas Square, Queen's Park Canada Day, and The Grand Bateria Express. I've performed with some of the city's top musicians and percussionists including The Escola de Samba de Toronto, The Samba Squad, and Batucada Carioca.
My Latin Dance credits are mostly under Toronto's Premium Cuban Cabaret Dance Company, El Xtravaganza Show for whom I've been dancing since about 2016. With them, I've opened for acts like Jacob Forever, and even backup danced for an Iranian artist named Mansour.
While I mostly keep to fitness now, I'm happy to consider supporting your next event with a performance - even better if it requires audience interaction! Send me a message, let's talk!
